Controlling the home-sale process for Genevieve’s and Evan’s sake was important to Jennifer.

Selling shouldn’t take over your life

Jennifer V., 33, has two high-energy toddlers and her day is nonstop from sunrise to sunset. As a dedicated stay-at-home mom, Jennifer’s routine is filled with meal preparation, diaper changes, laundry, grocery shopping, and taking the children to swimming and gymnastics lessons.

to swimming and gymnastics lessons. “I’m always doing something, I’m always busy, especially since Evan doesn’t nap anymore.” Jennifer says, “I actually don’t get any quiet time until 8 pm at the earliest. I do get some relief once my husband gets home, but it’s not like I sit down and watch Oprah … I have to finish dinner.”

“It’s a rewarding life and I wouldn’t change it for the world. But a normal day is a full day,” she says. With a hectic life like this, you’d think Jennifer would have chosen the “convenience” of a realtor when it came to sell her Cloverdale home. But she decided to sell with ComFree Private Sales.

“Selling with an agent would have been a major disruption to my family’s life,” Jennifer says. “With an agent, showings would be all over the place. A big problem for me, because my kids have a structured routine I don’t want disrupted.

And don’t even get me started about keeping the house “showhome” clean all the time (in anticipation of last minute showings) … it’s hard enough keeping it tidy on a day-to-day basis.“

So what made ComFree so different? “With ComFree, we were in full control of when our home was shown. To keep disruption and stress to a minimum, we only showed during open houses we held almost every Sunday. It worked well. “We also only had to have the house “showhome” clean once a week.”

But was there anything else that made ComFree a good choice?

“ComFree also gave us the ability to price our home lower than two of our neighbours”, both of whom were listed with full-commission realtors. “We felt a lower price was necessary because the market is slowing down. Since we’re not paying an agent $15,000, we’ll walk away with the same amount of money”, she added.

“We couldn’t be happier with the results. We were the first corner unit to sell, we sold for a good price, and, other than a going to Chuck E. Cheese or McDonald’s every Sunday, Evan and Genevieve hardly noticed a thing.”
